Well. At first I had trouble too. It's quite difficult at the beginning, especially if you don't own a horse and don't really understand what horses act like. (Me, lol) So first, I read a few posts on other sites, and learned more things about horses. But, you don't really have to "act" like a horse. One of the great things about role-plays, is that you can do almost anything. For example, horses on our game can talk to one another. They can express emotions through smiles, frowns, furrowed brows, etc. Real life horses can't talk, and they can't smile or frown. If you have seen Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, you might have noticed one thing different about those horses, than the horses in real life - The movie's horses have eyebrows, because the horses didn't talk in the movie, they had to make them 'feel' emotion. So they put eyebrows on them. Because in actual truth, humans usually look at another's' eyebrows to see their feelings, before anything else. It's kind of like that. I'll go find one of my old role-plays and show you what my first posts looked like....Here's one-
Sea Star rushed into the Claiming Canyon. Other wild ponies were everywhere! She cantered around the canyon untill she found a nice place to sit and wait for her 'prince' to come and claim her.
Sea Star lowered her head and took a mouthfull of grass. She chewed it happily. She had been on her own enough of her life. It was time for her to have a mate.
------It's pretty short. But here is what I've learned to do after role-playing for a while. Here's another version. This would be what I'd post now.
The fae picked up her pace, small hooves hitting the rough ground. Sea Star's painted hide was spotted with dots of earth, that had been thrown from her quickly moving daggers. The mare was surprised at the great number of equines gathered about her. Panting, she moved slowly about the packed surroundings, her opticals scanning for an empty space where she could stay until a proper stallion came along to claim her.
After finding a place large enough to accommodate her, Sea Star lowered her apex and gingerly lipped at the blades of grass before pulling some from the ground. The mare chewed slowly, savoring the sweet aroma and taste of the sea grass. She reminisced for a moment on her life. She had spent nearly every second alone... The mare was growing weary of being without a proper home. So here, she would seek a mate.
--That would be my 'new and improved' post. I've only been role-playing for a year or two, so don't be too upset. It should all come after you play for a while. And as for learning how to be the horse, read a few posts and it should clear up...
